In order to provide our customers with the best possible service, USHIO America has provided all of our Customer Service Representatives, Inside Salespeople and our Sales support staff with one of the best Lighting courses in the Industry. The National Association of Lighting Distributors (NAILD) undertook the development of the Lighting Specialist I (LS-I) course. This was in response to the requests of their members who were seeking course elements different than those which were available at the time. Their reasons, and the resulting course structure, matched up well with our own requirements. Thus, when the LS-I program became available, we decided to adopt it for several reasons.

Lighting is a complicated discipline. We believe that having been introduced to some of the physics, some of the chemistry, the way in which we see using the eye and the brain, as well as being able to recognize the important characteristics of the various sources we provide, lets each associate gain a better sense of the richness in our chosen business.

We supplement the materials offered in the LS-I course using our own Learning Center, and encourage individuals to explore their own areas of interest.

While there is much, much more than what's covered in LS-I to know, we feel it offers a good starting point for making those additional topics accessible to our associates. We hope you'll find that this preparation contributes to the experience you find in working with us.
