(SSLS). Peter brings to USHIO more than 25 years of professional lighting experience, holding executive positions at several lighting and fixture manufacturers, including Osram Sylvania, H E Williams, Inc., Venture Lighting and TCP Lighting. He has also held leadership positions at Luminus Devices, Lumenergi, Inc., LEDnovation and ETi SSL, and holds patents in HID lamp and LED fixture design.

The
U.S. Department of Energy Grants USHIO America
Exemption for 700 Series T8 Lamps (July
2012)
The Office of Hearings and Appeals of the Department
of Energy has granted USHIO AMERICA, INC. a 2-year
exemption relief from the new efficiency regulations
that go into effect on July 14, 2012 for certain T8
fluorescent lamps. As a result of this decision,
USHIO may continue to manufacture its
Ultra8™
T8 700 Series general service fluorescent lamps (GSFLs)
until July 14, 2014. This will allow the 700 Series
T8 fluorescent lamps to remain in the USHIO product
catalog for an additional 2 years.

(February 2011)
USHIO America, Inc. announced that the company plans
to start marketing the nano-imprint VUV (Vacuum
Ultra Violet) ashing system "CHIPs (Compact HiPower
System)" in the US on March 1, 2011. Incorporated
into the nano-imprint lithography (NIL) system to be
used for fabricating circuit patterns of a variety
of devices including LEDs, MEMS, functional films,
and biochips, the CHIPs allows non-contact and
damage-free cleaning, surface improvement, and
ashing of templates and workpieces.

Each LED string is 1 meter in length and contains 99

introduced UDMR, a DMX/MIDI
recorder. UDMR enables coordination
of lighting (DMX), sound (MIDI) and
video performance (V-LINK), and
vastly reduces initial setup cost in
a wide variety of entertainment
venues. It can easily record and
playback DMX signals used for
controlling lighting equipment at a
high density sampling rate of 40Hz
per frame. The UDMR is ideal where
data changes are infrequent such as
amusement parks, shopping malls, and
