the new "high brightness" 15kW Water Cooled
Xenon lamp for use in the prestigious Imax®
theatres. Fully tested and approved by Imax®
for use in theatres worldwide, this new lamp
offers up to 30% more screen brightness than
competitive lamps currently on the market.
Aside from higher output, the USHIO UXW-15KD
provides greater on screen light
distribution for higher intensities at the
edge of the screen. The UXW-15KD is an
essential component for the continued
success of not only the Imax®, Omnimax, and
Imax® Solido, but especially for the new
Imax® 3D theatres.
USHIO, taking in account the existing lamp
house design, has once again stretched the
limits of existing materials and processes
to design a lamp that enhances the benefits
of both. For USHIO, this technology is
nothing new. USHIO has been building Xenon
lamps since 1957 from as small as 75 watts
used in scientific instrumentation, to
30,000 watts used for solar stimulation.
