Low Pressure UV Amalgam
USHIO offers two types of low-pressure Amalgam
lamps. These
lamps have a special coating that allows for
transmission at 254nm only or 254nm and 185nm
for ozone production.
The low-pressure Amalgam lamps achieve ten times
the UV power density of standard low-pressure
lamps and five times more ozone production while
operating at a higher temperature than conventional
low-pressure Mercury lamps.
The higher efficiency of the Amalgam lamps allows
less lamps per system or lower wattage lamps
in the system while achieving the same results
as standard low-pressure Mercury lamps.
Amalgam lamps use less mercury than standard
low-pressure
mercury lamps and are RoHS compliant. Life time
of the Amalgam lamps are in excess of 12,000
hours with only a 20% degradation in output.
