Job Description:

  • Reporting to a Technical Manufacturing Director this role is to support the creating of laser development modules both in our Milpitas cleanroom and remotely via internal manufacturing sites (New Jersey and Vermont) and External subcontractors (Japan) and oversea suppliers
  • Assist in the implementation of new and existing products and processes into Production/Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation, work instruction changes, and process/drawing change documents
  • Prepare and drive continuous improvement activities to safeguard safety, quality, and delivery
  • Generate detailed manufacturing drawings for components and mechanical layout drawings for assemblies in SolidWorks design software
  • Help analyze and help resolve systematic and electronic equipment problems with the help of data collection databases
  • Evaluate Manufacturing and Development Processes
  • Take control of inventory management
  • Purchase part from oversea suppliers
  • Manage subcontractors and other suppliers
  • Design and install equipment
  • Resolve issues and delays in production
  • Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
  • Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, suppliers and potentially customers
  • Develop subcontract specifications, terms, and conditions
  • Negotiate and implementing additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts
  • Help develop policies and procedures for purchasing and contracting agents

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of “hands on” laser manufacturing experience
  • Basic Understanding of tool design

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong analytical, organizational and technical skills
  • Strong excel and SolidWorks knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
  • Strong observation and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Negotiating skills
