Job Summary

Ushio America, Inc. – at their Irvine, CA location – is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to join our team as a Mechanical/Process Engineer.  This is a unique opportunity for someone who is interested in challenging work and wants to make a difference as a part of a fast-paced team in a factory with 25 years of history. The successful candidate will work with the team to improve existing processes and design new ones.  If you are interested in an exciting team-based atmosphere and have a strong desire to grow professionally, this may be the opportunity for you.

The Mechanical/Process Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead a small department to manage existing processes and develop new ones.

Work with other mechanical and electrical engineers to maintain and build production equipment and exciting new products

Create and maintain procedures and work instructions

Create and maintain mechanical drawings

The Mechanical/Process Engineer is expected to:

Complete all work with a high level of workmanship and quality

Be self motivated, analytic, and willing to learn independently

Perform all work activities in a manner that promotes integrity and trust

Contribute to and maintain a respectful and collaborative work environment

Applicants must possess the following skills:

Familiarity in a machine shop and preparing mechanical drawings required

Strong trouble shooting skills

Skilled with Solidworks.  Familiarity with Autocad a plus

Experience programming PLCs

Skilled with hands and working on machines

Must be able to manage people and interact in a team environment

Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Must be able to analyze production processes, find weaknesses and suggest improvements

Must be adept in Microsoft Office

Project management skills a plus

Knowledge of vacuum systems a plus

Machine shop fabricating experience a plus

Prior experience with vision systems a plus

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or process engineering or equivalent.
