Ushio Inc. is releasing new violet laser diodes (LDs) HL40113MG and HL40115MG for 405nm.
The latest additions to Ushio’s violet LD product line-up have 600mW of output power (CW). Although HL40113/115MG share characteristics with existing Ushio LDs, they offer significant improvement in wall-plug efficiency, slope efficiency*1, and overall lifetime.
For comparison, HL40113/115MG offer a seven point increase in wall-plug efficiency*2 from existing Ushio LD HL40063/65MG (the WPE values are 28.6% and 21.4%, respectively), further reducing power consumption and heat removal requirements. HL40113/115MG also provide an 18% improvement in slope efficiency compared to HL40063/65MG, creating advancements for overall system optimization.
HL40113/115MG additionally improves the LD lifetime by 40% in comparison to HL40063/65MG. This substantial development enables longer-lasting, more productive, and more cost-efficient laser systems, which are optimized for applications such as laser direct imaging (including photolithography and PCB manufacturing), as well as many bio-medical and life science fields.
*1 The efficiency of the optical light output power against the input current.
*2 The energy conversion efficiency with which the system converts electrical power into optical power.
