VBG™-Stabilized Dual Laser Source Module
Our PD-LD LS-2 LabSource module is a VBG™-stabilized dual-laser source, fully-integrated, benchtop module that supports Shifted Excitation Raman Difference Spectroscopy (SERDS). This technology allows greatly improved spectral analysis of compounds that fluoresce or are in the presence of background fluorescence.
It features two fiber-coupled laser diode sources that are spectrally-narrowed and wavelength-stabilized via our proprietary PD-LD VBG™ technology.
The LabSource is the only module on the market to offer the combination of 2 laser sources with closely-spaced wavelengths ( from 0.1 to about 1 nm) that is the underlying mechanism of SERDS analysis. The difference between the spectral outputs from these two sources enables high-quality spectral data in the presence of background fluorescence.
The source is easy to operate either from the front panel or remotely via the USB interface. External modulation, shutter control and analog power control are available.
Any combination of two lasers with wavelengths at 647, 785, 830 and 1064 nm is available, and other wavelengths may be produced upon request.
Additionally, the LabSource contains a unique high-power fiber-optic switch with internal beam dump, which permits rapid switching between laser sources while ensuring that no laser emission emerges from the output port in between the measurements.
The LabSource is intended for benchtop applications, where its SERDs capabilities can be integrated with existing laboratory analytical equipment. Due to its small size and ease of steup, it can be used with in multiple setups within a lab.
The LabSource is well-suited to any application in which fluorescence impedes traditional single-source Raman spectroscopy analysis, such as life sciences applications which require analysis of live tissue or organic matter.
