Right to Know
Pursuant to Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, businesses are required to warn California consumers of significant exposure to chemicals and substances linked to development of cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. Such chemicals and substances can be found in consumer products, homes, workplaces, and the environment in general.
As a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency, the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) pursues a mission to protect and enhance the health of California citizens and the state environment through scientific evaluations, aimed at informing and guiding relevant regulatory action. In doing so, the OEHHA requires the State of California to publish and maintain a public list of substances identified as carcinogens or reproductive toxicants. Businesses are then required to sufficiently warn consumers when such substances are present in a product for sale.
Exposure Factors
Our products contain chemicals or substances on the list provided by Prop 65; however, this does not mean one can be exposed by the chemicals in the products, resulting in cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm. There will be no exposures through expected normal usage, if the product is used for the purpose it was designed. Ushio America, Inc. has always provided high quality, safe products for our customers and will continue working with our customers and suppliers to meet all applicable laws and regulatory requirements, including California Proposition 65 warning regulations.
